Brian Sharp, CrossFit trainer & Affiliate owner

Brian_150_1 Brian_150_2 Brian_150_3

Brian's pre CrossFit background is Army & Martial Arts, he served for around 10 years in the Army Reserve. Brian is a 2nd Dan in Goju Ryu Karate and is a qualified Karate instructor.

Brian Studied Physiology at the University of Westminster and found CrossFit sometime 2006, training in the local globo gym until frustration drove him to set up a CrossFit gym in his garage. Difficulty in getting hold of the right gear provided the stimulus to start importing CrossFit equipment and start Strength Power Speed Ltd. Two years of intermittent training in the garage plus taking courses in Kettlebells and Olympic lifting led Brian to take the CrossFit level one certification in CrossFit North Santa Cruz in January 2008 and started helping Andrew Stemler (CrossFit London) teaching the iCourse. Brian has completed the BWLA Olympic Lifting for Sport and CrossFit Gymnastics certifications. In 2009 Brian set up London's first CrossFit gym, CrossFit Central London in Southwark, near the Tate Modern.

Dell has a degree in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy based in London and has an Osteopathy practice in London Bridge. For the last 8 years he has played Rugby for Richmond and several 7s teams. Dell started CrossFit in the summer of 2008 and fell in love with it, he started working on technique and Olympic lifts training to become as fit as possible with a view to competing in the CrossFit games, a goal he would probably have achieved last year had he not broken his arm playing Rugby. Some of Dell's stats: Backsquat -200Kg, Deadlift - 200kg, Fran - 2.46. Dell currently helps out in WOD classes and brings a huge depth of knowledge from his Osteopathy practice.Dell recently passed his CrossFit Level 1 Certification at CrossFit Central London.

Matt and James

Matthew has a childhood background in gymnastics and swam competitively at Club and University level. Following a back injury in his twenties he left off exercise and got fat and unhealthy. Osteopathy and regular Pilates and Gyrotonic put him back on the route to health, building core stability and flexibility. Matthew discovered Crossfit in October 2009, after two years of Globo gym (ineffective) and personal training (good but expensive). He is now training Crossfit up to five times a week. After six months of continual soreness, the strength and fitness improvements are impossible to ignore: He knocked more than 2 minutes off his baseline workout time, more than two seconds off his best 500m row and six minutes off Angie. His best Fran time is currently 4:49 as received. Matthew completed his Crossfit Level 1 Certification in April 2010 and is very much enjoying coaching and mentoring those new to Crossfit.

James is a British-American dual citizen, Mechanical Engineer working as an offshore wind farm developer in London. He is an avid (though not good) rugby player who has most recently played with Barnes RFC since 2008. He has been Crossfitting since September 2009 and has subsequently benefited from significant fat loss (though he insists he wasn’t fat), muscle gain, and increases in strength and stamina. James completed his Crossfit Level 1 Certification in April 2010 and helps out at the gym: usually in the evenings and on Saturdays.
